Product Overview

The Freeblades Living Rulebook (FBLRB) is your one-stop shop for all Freeblades rules needed to play our fantasy miniature skirmish game!

The FBLRB is a hyperlinked and optimized PDF, only offered as a digital product.  All significant keywords, crossreferences and index entries are hyperlinks to the relevant section.

While we make a large number of products that enhance game play: additional ways to play the game, play aids, model stat cards, etc., our intent is that the only product one needs to play the game is this one. Enjoy!

I had a chance to play this at Gencon, and I had a lot of fun learning the system from the gang at DGS. They're fun people who made a fun game. I appreciate how each faction has a unique feel, and best of all, a consistent rulebook that doesn't change every 6 months and affordable minis!

Haven’t gotten to play yet. After reading the rules they seem really tight and I’m excited to run down some opponents on dinosaur riding Romans.

So far I love the living rulebook. The teams seem very balanced and still feel unique. Easy to get around with all the hyperlinks. I’ve already recommended the game to friends.

    Rulebook Review

Great game made by an awesome company! The rules are both easy enough for the new player to understand and be effective, while also being nuanced enough for the advanced player to take advantage of their faction's unique abilities. I love this game and unfortunately do not get to play it enough!

Living Rulebook - a breath of fresh air

Posted by Allen Barton on May 26th 2020

Ok, I wasn't sure about a living rulebook when I first looked at Freeblades... 236 pages long. How would the updates be handled? How would I use the book? How would I keep up with the changes? So many questions. Well now that I have the updated version in my hands (actually just on my computer right now) I can say all my fears have been relieved. Updates are spelled out in the front of the book and the actual updates/changes are in a different color. If you combine this with all the hyperlinks, you can quickly navigate all the changes. I have always been "I need a hard copy in my hands" person, but with this book, not so much. Don't get me wrong, I will probably print this big boy out but I really don't need to. I actually like having a copy on my phone. During games, a quick search and I have my answers. I actually love the fact that the book can be updated on the fly and I don't have to purchase anything new. I huge shout out to DGS Games on this one. $10 and I have an updated book for life. So outstanding job on this one. I highly recommend.
