The Shakrim military is usually more of a militia than anything; a volunteer force that is brought together when danger threatens their island or when the Chulthas is bent on going to war. However, the Chulthas - or rulers of one of the many islands - each keep a small contingent of professional warriors on their payroll. One of these types of soldiers is the Zaleek Warrior. The Zaleek Warriors are one of the only groups of professional soldiers in the Shakrim Isles. They are raised and trained to believe that they are Shakkamal’s most blessed warriors, gifted by him with strength and cunning to protect the Shakrim people and carry out the will of the Ever Serpente. On the battlefield Zaleek Warriors are a seemingly unstoppable force, swinging their toothed blades in swathes of destruction, while shrugging off wounds many others could not.
